Velma

I've always loved the air-cooled dubs, but never thought I would own one, then one day we got a call from a friend about a 1979 Super Beetle convertible.......It was love at first sight!

She (yes, we determined it was a she) had definitely aged through the years and hadn't been well taken car of, but underneath she was sound. I just new it was time she had a good home and got a beauty make over. One day while she was sitting in the garage, waiting to be restored as I was getting ice from the freezer, I asked her "Do you have a name?" Velma popped into my head and stuck.
We took her Earl Mann's Bug Shop in Ardmore, OK. Earl Mann is well known in these parts as THE place to take your VW for restoration. He's been at it for over 30 years and knows his stuff! When he gets done, you have a "new" old VW.....the paint job alone is absolutely beautiful!

Here's what we had done:
Exterior: BMW Alaska Blue Metallic
Interior: Chalk White (bright white) - stock '79 style
Top: Stayfast - black
CD player - 4 speakers
Wheels: chrome w/Wolfsburg logo
Engine: brand new VW built engine - used in the current Air-cooled Beetles still being built in Mexico
I decided since changing the color made her modifed stock, I might as well add things I would enjoy!
