Editor's Note:The following story was sent to me in an email about 10 years ago - back when I ran VWWorld. The New Beetle had just been introduced. Jonathan would probably be 23/24 years old now. Jonathan, if you happen across this page I would love to hear from you!

I'm a 14 year old boy who is obsessed with the New Beetle. I've been liking it for a year now. My birthday was on the 18th. Wanna know what I wanted? A ride in the new beetle. My mom said she would try.

One day at school, I left to get my teeth cleaned at the dentist. When I came back, a Dark Blue New Beetle was parked in the faculty parking lot. Neat huh? I found out from my friends it was my band teachers.

So, on one weekend before my birthday, I was sitting on the couch watching TV, when the door bell rang. It was Mrs. Haberea, the band teacher. I thought she was here to talk to my mom. She told me 'Happy Birthday.' Then I looked over and saw the headlight in my drive way.

With out saying a word, I ran to get my coat. She took us to Braums and bought me ice cream. Then we went out for a ride in the country. I got to work the gear shift. When we got back, we took some pictures. That was my best birthday gift ever!
